Gutter Installation in Augusta, GA

Gutters are easy to overlook until you see what happens without them. Augusta averages over 43 inches of rain per year, and the storms that build along the Savannah River corridor can drop serious volume in short windows — an inch of water in thirty minutes is routine during summer thunderstorms. Every drop that hits your roof needs somewhere to go. A proper gutter system collects it and moves it away from your foundation. A failed or absent system dumps it directly against your house, where it saturates the soil, erodes landscaping, pressures your crawlspace or slab foundation, and eventually creates problems that cost many times what new gutters would have.

We install seamless aluminum gutters, custom-formed on site. No joints to separate and leak later. Every run is formed to the exact length your Augusta home requires.

A Real Job from the Pepperidge Area — Augusta

A newer brick ranch near the Pepperidge subdivision off Windsor Spring Road — 30815 zip code — with sectional gutters from the original builder that were pulling away from the fascia on the front and side elevations after about ten years.

Multiple gutter sections sagging and pulling from fascia. The homeowner noticed standing water in the front landscaping bed after every rain and had found moisture in the crawlspace during a routine check.

The original 4-inch sectional gutters were undersized for the roof area they were draining — the home had steep pitches that concentrated high water volume through the front gutter runs. Hanger spacing was 30 inches, which was insufficient for the load. Behind the worst sagging section, the fascia board had begun softening from water that had been getting behind the gutter for years. Downspouts were discharging too close to the foundation.

Replaced the rotted fascia section — roughly 8 linear feet. Installed 5-inch seamless aluminum gutters across all elevations with hidden hanger brackets at 18-inch spacing. Added a downspout on the front elevation where the original install only had one for a 40-foot run. Extended all downspouts to discharge at least four feet from the foundation. Rear elevation got 6-inch gutters on the two sections receiving runoff from the steepest roof pitches.

Crawlspace completely dry after the next significant rain. Foundation saturation problem solved. Our full gutter installation services page has more detail on options and materials.

Getting Gutters Right in Augusta

Size matters. Most Augusta homes do well with 5-inch seamless aluminum, but homes with large roof areas, steep pitches, or high-volume valleys sometimes need 6-inch runs in specific sections. We calculate water load per section and spec accordingly. Downspout count and placement matters equally — too few and the gutters overflow in a Georgia downpour regardless of capacity.

Pitch is the detail most installers get wrong. Gutters must drop slightly toward each downspout — typically 1/16 inch per foot — to keep water moving. Standing water adds weight, attracts mosquitoes, and causes sag over time. We verify pitch with a level on every run before final fastening.

Color options: we carry standard aluminum gutter stock in white, musket brown, and almond — colors that cover the vast majority of Augusta home exteriors. Specialty colors available on request.
